Sweetpea F.O.R. Animals: Additionally, you may have noticed something different if you’ve been following Sweetpea lately.

Sweetpea F.O.R. Animals is the new name for Woofstock.

This fall, we’ll gather for Sweetpea’s Rescue Rebuild Rally.

The event is still happening Saturday, October 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Westview Farms Creamery in Monson, with live music, vendors, food, fall fun, a dog costume contest and plenty more.

However, this is about much more than one fun day.

Why the New Name?

If you’ve been following Sweetpea, you know we’ve been promoting our big October fundraiser as Woofstock. After repeated online interference involving our Facebook presence and content, however, we’re taking steps to protect Sweetpea and the work we’re doing.

Changing the event name is one of those steps. And you know what? We think the new name fits this chapter of our story even better… Sweetpea Rescue Rebuild Rally!

We’re rebuilding after the devastating 2015 fire and working toward once again becoming a lifesaving resource for animals in Central Massachusetts. At the same time, we’re rallying the community that has never stopped caring about Sweetpea – and welcoming new people who are just discovering our story.

Moving forward sometimes means being willing to change things along the way. For us, this change feels like a pretty good one.

The story continues… and Sweetpea’s Rescue Rebuild Rally feels like the right name for this exciting next episode.

The Community Is Already Rallying

One of the most encouraging parts of planning this event is seeing amazing people and local businesses step forward to support Sweetpea F.O.R. Animals. This is the type of momentum that inspires and encourages all of our volunteers to keep moving forward.

We are incredibly grateful to Elizabeth Monaco, whose sponsorship honors Stewart and Otis. Stewart was deeply loved and lived a life filled with the beach, boating, friends, family and plenty of personality. His little brother Otis continues the adventure in California… who also loves boats, the beach, and playing with dogs bigger than him.

We love that a Rescue Rebuild Rally sponsorship can be more than a business advertisement, it can celebrate a beloved pet or honor someone special.

We’re also very grateful to Churchill’s Village Eatery (and their cat Fifi) for becoming a sponsor and supporting Sweetpea’s rebuilding efforts. Churchill’s is a family-owned breakfast and lunch restaurant on Main Street in Sturbridge, known for its welcoming, hometown atmosphere and classic breakfast and lunch favorites. Local businesses stepping up for animal rescue organizations can make an enormous difference.

Another heartfelt thank-you is going out to to Acupuncture Integrations of Sturbridge/Amy Gaudette for supporting the Rescue Rebuild Rally.

Amy brings incredible skill, warmth and a personal approach to acupuncture and holistic wellness in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. Having studied acupuncture around the world, she draws on years of experience in acupuncture, herbal medicine, manual therapy and personal training to provide what she describes as “a deeper and more holistic form of care to each individual.” At Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine of Sturbridge, Amy’s extensive knowledge and down-to-earth approach makes clients feel comfortable, heard and genuinely cared for.

Additionally, To Elizabeth, Churchill’s Village Eatery and Acupuncture Integrations of Sturbridge: thank you for rallying with us.

This Is What Rebuilding Looks Like

Rebuilding an animal rescue doesn’t happen with one donation, one event or one person. It happens when local businesses sponsor Sweetpea, someone makes a donation in honor or memory of a beloved pet or person, vendors join our fundraising events, volunteers give their time and families show up to support us.

Even sharing a Sweetpea post can make a difference. Every share introduces our story to new people across Central Massachusetts and helps grow the community behind Sweetpea F.O.R. Animals – a community determined to help us rebuild and once again become a lifesaving resource for local animals.

That’s exactly what we hope Sweetpea’s Rescue Rebuild Rally will represent: longtime supporters, new friends, local businesses, animal lovers and families coming together for one day with one shared purpose – moving Sweetpea another step forward.

There will be plenty to see, do and enjoy at Sweetpea’s Rescue Rebuild Rally!

  • Live music from Carpenter Hill and Tali & Luca, plus local vendors and great food
  • Fall favorites including ice cream, pumpkins, hayrides, beer and wine with an amazing view!
  • And let’s not forget the best part… our dog costume contest!

Bring your family, your friends and, of course, your dog, and spend the afternoon with us. Along the way, you’ll have a chance to learn more about Sweetpea, reconnect with an organization so many people across Central Massachusetts still remember and discover what we’re working toward next.

Most importantly, come be part of what happens next.

We lost suffered a devastating loss in 2015, but we never lost the mission.

Now it’s time to rebuild, rescue and re-home – and we’re asking our community to rally with us.
