Happy Endings - Beauregard

July 20, 2009

Dear Ms. Wanda,
I just wanted to send you an update on my new life. Sorry it has taken me awhile to write. I do think of you and hope all of my former friends at Sweetpea are doing well. Hopefully they too have found new homes.
I am doing GREAT! It was nice to be home for the holidays. It was my first Christmas... with my new family. What fun.  I will admit I did have some adjustment issues at first. (We won't mention biting, counter surfing, stealing food, or sleeping on furniture.) What can I say, I LOVE home-cooking. Chicken and meatloaf drive me wild. with a lot of love and limit setting, I have made great strides. I do tolerate those two cats. They're really not so bad. I still can't help myself, I do steal their food.
I did have my "procedure" done and had to wear that ridiculous cone. I also had a nasty case of "worms". Not fun. Talk about stomach upset. I have gained some weight. My fur is very soft and shiny. As you can see from my photo, I am one FINE looking dog.
I am faster than fast and love running and playing. I have three acres to run free. I love tracking and chasing squirrels, chip monks and "critters". I get lots of fresh air and rest. I sleep on my own bed upstairs with the kids at night.
I love to go for rides in the car and never pass up an opportunity to go for a ride. I'm showing better control at not barking ferociously at motorcycles, policemen, the gas attendant, and traffic cops. I'm more respectful. I have come a long way.
I'm on vacation this week. with my friend, Charlie. He is a beagle. It's great to have friends. I love my new family and they sure love me. It must be my wonderful personality. Ms. Nancy says, "we sure got lucky with him." I couldn't agree more.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me to find my new family. I'm home at last.

With warm regards,

      Beauregard  (No longer "Howie")

Happy Endings - Sassy

6/27/09

Dear fellow cats and kittens at Sweetpea animal shelter,

I am writing to tell you I finally found a good home. I have my own room with private litter box and the use of the house. I even have a nice sun porch to work on my tan and to watch the birds and rabbits. My mommy and daddy are so good to me, I love them both to death. I also wear a new pink collar with a bell so they know where I am. It's beautiful.

We have lots of company that come to see how pretty I am. I even have my own mirror, to check my makeup. To all my friends, please be patient – somebody nice will come for you to adopt. My mom and dad are writing this for me cause I can't hold a pen.

Love,

        Sassy (aka Ava).
