DESCRIPTION:Humans for Animals: It Takes a Village\nA casual gathering for people who want to help animals in our community\nHelping animals takes more than a building. \nIt takes people. \nOn Wednesday\, September 23\, from 6–8 p.m. at Timberyard Brewing Company\, Sweetpea for Animals is bringing those people together for Humans for Animals: It Takes a Village. \nThis isn’t a formal volunteer orientation. There won’t be a two-hour presentation or an expectation that you sign your weekends away. \nIt’s a chance to meet. \nYOU IN? Scroll down to sign up! \nSweetpea is building again.\nFor years\, Sweetpea Friends of Rutland Animals operated a no-kill animal shelter dedicated to helping dogs and cats in need. After a devastating fire destroyed the shelter in 2015\, that work changed dramatically. \nBut the mission didn’t disappear. \nToday\, Sweetpea is building momentum toward the next chapter of animal rescue in our community—and that takes more than rebuilding a physical space. We need to rebuild the community around it\, too. \nThat’s where Humans for Animals comes in. \nYou don’t need a lot of time to make a difference.\nWhen people hear “volunteer\,” it’s easy to picture a regular schedule and hours of free time. \nThat’s not the only way to help. \nAn hour at an event matters. So does taking photos\, making a craft\, putting a donation jar at a local business\, sharing a social media post\, helping organize supplies\, making a phone call or lending a professional skill. \nSome people may eventually want to foster. Some may love fundraising. Some want to work directly with animals. Others would rather stay behind the scenes. \nWe need all of them. \nThe goal of Humans for Animals is simple: bring together people who care about animals and help them find a way to contribute that works for them. \nCome make something with us.\nWe’re skipping the rows of chairs and PowerPoint presentation. \nInstead\, grab a drink\, pull up a seat and meet members of the Sweetpea board while we make Sweetpea donation jars together. \nWe’ll provide the jars and craft supplies. You’ll provide the creativity. \nWhile we work\, we’ll share Sweetpea’s story\, talk about what we’re working toward and answer questions about how you can get involved. \nAnd when the night is over\, you won’t have just attended an information session. \nYou’ll have already done something to help. \nHumans for Animals: It Takes a Village\nWednesday\, September 23\n6–8 p.m.\nTimberyard Brewing Company \nCome alone.
